Batik Progress
2D Students are currently exploring the batik method commonly done by the Indonesian culture. Batik is a wax resist done on fabric. To stray away from safety hazards and fire codes, we are avoiding using wax and instead are using an equal mixture of aloe vera lotion and toothpaste in squeeze bottles. Students drew out an abstract design on paper to draw through their fabric with the resist mixture.
